We are excited that you want to start a meeting in your area!  We recommend attending a few of the online MARA meetings prior to starting your own.  Please contact us with any questions about in-person, online, or hybrid meetings! 

 

Suggestions for starting your meeting:​

• Secure a location or plan an online meeting.  Zoom is the preferred app to use for your online meeting.

​

• Order the MARA book from Amazon.com! Workbook is coming soon!

​

• Read over this handy Meeting Format guide to help formulate your meeting style. 

  • Download the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions 

  • Download slides of the Preamble and Closing for your group to read together.

​

• Send us the details of your meeting: day, time, location and best contact name and number! We will post it on our website.

​

• Download the tri-fold brochure for your in-person meetings.

​

• Consider providing refreshments for in-person meetings.  Any donations taken up should go back into the meeting to cover the cost of space rental or other various group needs.

Desire tokens are available in our SHOP!  We do not count clean time, but recognize that every person desires to live a safe lifestyle today.  

 

We believe the meeting format will allow the groups to have consistency around the world.  Walking into a new meeting is challenging, but having certainty that the MARA format is the same can be comforting.
